What recent travellers are saying

We handed them a vague wish — "Scottish Highlands, five days, no motorways" — and got back a day-by-day route with hidden bothies, whisky stops, and coastal detours we'd never have found alone.

— Harriet & Tom, Leeds

The Cornish itinerary was perfect for our family. Every lunch stop was dog-friendly, every evening had a sunset view. It felt like someone who truly loves driving had planned it.

Road Trip Planning That Feels Like a Conversation, Not a Brochure

We don't sell packages. We listen to how you like to travel — your pace, your curiosities, your tolerance for single-track lanes — then build a route that fits. Every itinerary is handcrafted by people who've driven these roads themselves, from the A-roads of the Cotswolds to the mountain passes of Snowdonia.

Every Mile Should Mean Something

We believe a road trip isn't about getting from A to B. It's about what happens between. The unplanned stop at a farm shop. The view that makes you pull over. The pub you almost drove past. Our routes are designed to create those moments — not just connect destinations.

How Your Route Comes Together

The Brief Call

A 20-minute conversation — not a form. We ask about your vehicle, your travel style, your must-sees and your deal-breakers. We want to know if you prefer B-roads or dual carriageways, early starts or lazy mornings.

Route Drafting

Our planning team builds a first-pass route within 48 hours. This includes driving segments, recommended stops, accommodation suggestions, and timing estimates calibrated to your pace.

"The first draft was already better than anything I'd found on Google." — Priya K., Birmingham

Refinement Round

You review the route. We adjust. Swap a lunch stop, add a detour, shorten a driving day. This is collaborative — your trip, your preferences, our expertise.

Final Delivery

You receive a detailed PDF, a shareable Google Maps link with every waypoint pinned, and a companion notes document with insider tips for each stop. Ready to drive.

Quick fact: Our average route includes 14 curated stops across 5 driving days — and 92% of travellers add at least one unplanned detour inspired by our notes.

Why We Started This

Road Tripping Experts grew out of a shared frustration: generic "top 10 drives" lists that ignore how real people actually travel. We wanted something better — routes that account for toddler nap schedules, or a photographer's need for east-facing light, or a couple's wish to avoid anything resembling a motorway.

Based in West Green, England, our small team of route planners has collectively driven over 200,000 miles across the UK. We update our knowledge constantly — checking road closures, new openings, seasonal changes, and that café that just switched owners.

We're not a travel agency. We don't book hotels or sell insurance. We do one thing: plan extraordinary driving routes. And we think that focus is what makes the difference.

Common Questions

Things people ask before they book — answered honestly.

Ideally two to three weeks before your trip. We can work faster for a rush fee, but more lead time means more thorough research and better stop recommendations.

Not currently. Our strength is deep local knowledge of UK roads, and we'd rather do one region brilliantly than many regions adequately. We may expand to Ireland and Scotland's islands in the future.

Weekend routes start at £95; week-long expeditions from £185. Themed and multi-car routes are quoted individually. Every package includes the brief call, draft, refinement, and final delivery.

Absolutely — that's the whole point. Tell us your must-sees, your no-go zones, your dietary needs for lunch stops, anything. The more specific you are, the better the route.
